MINISTER TO VISIT AUSTRALIA
Next Year’s Anniversary Celebrations OFFICIAL DELEGATE FROM DOMINION New Zealand will be officially represented by a Minister of the Crown at the Australian sesquicentenary celebrations to be held in New South Wales early next year, according to a statement made by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hou. JI. J. Savage, in an interview last evening, Mr. J. O’Brien, M.P. for Westland, was recently selected to attend the celebrations as the representative of the New Zealand branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association. “The Government has accepted the invitation of the Australian Government authorities to be rtpresented officially at the celebrations to be held shortly to commemorate the founding of Australia,” said Mr. Savage, when questioned regarding the form the New Zealand representation was to take. “A Minister of the Crown will visit Australia as the official representative ot the Dominion. No Minister has yet been selected to make the trip, but this will have to be done soon after meetings of Cabinet are resumed in January, for the celebrations are due to commence early next year.”
