Christmas Shopping
Mother’s going shopping Directly after tea: She said if I was good all day She’d perhaps take me. I shall love to see the shops In their Christmas dressing, With all sorts of jolly folks All round us pressing. ** . * I’ve some money, too, to spend, On gifts for dad and mother; Goodness only knows what line Things I may discover! But why I really want to go. And why I’m feeling perky, Is just—l want to help them choose A semmptuous Christmas turkey! —Original, by Peggotty (14), Greytown.
