Wellington v. Salt Lake City
(By Buffalo. > Baseball at its best will be seen at the Winter Show Grounds this afternoon when a Wellington v. Salt Lake City game will be played, A team to represent Wellington was picked last Saturday after a series of trial games by selected players from all the clubs at present playing the bail-game in Wellington. The result was n team which should worthily uphold New Zealand’s reputation in sport, notwithstanding the fact that their opponents have had experience overseas.
Doubtless the visitors will show our rnen up in the finer points of the game, but that will be all to the good, ft is not expected that the Salt Lake City team will be beaten, but the general opinion is that they will not have things nil their own/way. Baseball is an athletic game, and if it contributes toward keeping our younj; people in physical fitness and gives them and the spectators enjoyment then it is worth its place in New Zealand. Barracking by players and spectators is a feature, and is taken and given in the Imst of spirit.
