YESTERDAY’S WEATHER

Wellington.— Overcast, with frequent heavv showers and a strong, squally north-westerly wind. Minimum ternperature, Wednesday night, sS.3deg.; maximum yesterday. 63.9 deg.; at 3.30 p.m., 63.3 deg. Barometer, 29.45 in. Palmerston North.— Bright but overcast, with warm temperatures and no wind. Light rain fell during the afternoon. Masterton.— Overcast with frequent rain showers. Moderate southerlv wind. Wanganui,— Overcast all day. Squally in the afternoon, with freqqent heavy showers and a fresh north-north-west-erly breeze. Sea moderate. At 4 p.m. the barometer was falling at 29.58 in. New Plymouth.— Overcast, with occasional drizzle and a light northerly, changing to steady rain showers with a strong northerly after midday. Sea moderate. Warm temperature. Napier and Hastings.— Overcast and again warm, but cooler than yesterday. A light north-west breeze. Waipukurau.—A dull, muggy day, with a slight shower late in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 72deg. It was a hot evening, the temperature at S p.m. being GSdeg. Auckland. — Cloudy but humid weather ruled during the day, the wind being fresh from the north-west. In the late afternoon the wind veered to the west, accompanied by rain. Maximum temperature. SOdeg. Barometric pressure fell steadily at 5 p.m., the reading being 29.80 in. Christchurch.— The weather was overcast, with a moderate south-west wind and frequent ‘showers of heavy rain. The maximum temperature was 61.2 deg. The barometer fell during the day and read 29.47 in. at 5 p.m.
