A welcome to Mr. R. L. Button after his extended trip abroad was conveyed at yesterday’s meeting of the Wellington District Free Ambulance Service by Mr. D. J. McGowan, who presided in the absence of Sir Charles Norwood. No one attended more regularly than Mr. Button, he said, or paid more attention to the work of the service. Mr. McGowan reported that Sir Charles was well on the road to recovery, and a motion was carried reciprocating the Christmas greetings conveyed to men> bers from Sir Charles. It was decided to make the usual Christmas grant of £5 to the staff. The meeting closed with expressions of goodwill for the festive season. Donatlonß Acknowledged.
