LORRY-DRIVER BADLY INJURED
Vehicle Crashes Over Bank
The .driver of a heavy motor-lorry, W. A. Fraser, 31 Ribble Street, Island Bay, received severe head injuries and concussion yesterday morning, when his vehicle, which is owned by Booth’s Timber Co.* went over a 70ft. bank at Townsend Road, Miramar, somersaulting several times before ending up, upside down, at the bottom of the bank. The cab and bodywork of the lorry were completely wrecked and the chassis was also damaged. The driver was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance, and an operation performed. Last night his condition was stated to be serious.
