King George VI to-day celebrated his forty-second birthday at Buckingham Palace.
A 500-year-old custom was revived at. Windsor when the King’s Birthday was observed by the firing of a salute of 21 guns. Many messages of congratulation were receivefl at Buckingham Palace. Queen Mary drove to the Palace to convey her good wishes.
