'The claim from Auckland that, the time of Imin. 16sec. recorded by Kathleen Grey in the 110yds. women’s swim is three-fifths of a second faster than that of Islay Purdie, Dunedin, is not substantiated by facts. Miss Purdie actually swam the distance, not only in Dunedin but also in Auckland, in faster time than that recorded by tbe Aucklander. Miss Purdie’s record for 110yds. is 73sec., and she has beaten 76sec. on several occasions. At Auckland in March last, Miss Purdie. who is 17. sw.Tm 110yds. in Train 13sec.
