Spencer—Tippler

Al St. Bede’s Church, Shannon, recently, the wedding toqk place of Natalie Gretchen, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Reginald Tippler, an'd Stuart John, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Spencer. The church was decorated with white lilies and roses by Mesdames Hallam, and O. and H. Tippler. The bride, escorted by her brother, Mr. Harold Tippler, wore a long, trained gown of oyster satin and lace, and on entering the church wore her tulle veil over her face. She carried a large arm sheaf of lilies and roses. Miss Marie Butterton (Wellington) and Miss Bird, cousins of the bride, attended as bridesmaids, and were daintily attired in picture frocks of cream net over taffeta, with crowns of dark red roses and ribbon. They carried bouquets of dark red roses. The bridegroom’s cousin, Mr. Erl Roe (Levin), was best man, and Mr. Graham Tippler, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Mrs. Cronquest played the bridal march and the hymn, “The Voice That Breathed O’er Eden,” was sung.

A reception was held at the Ballance Street Hall, where Mrs. Tippler received the guests wearing a black and white ensemble and a large black hat and carrying a bouquet to tone. She was assisted by Mrs, Spencer in a frock of black georgette, relieved with beige, and a smart coat an'd black hat trimmed with berries and carrying a posy of roses. The beautiful three-tiered cake was made by the bride’s aunt and cousin, Auckland districts, the bride wearing a brown tailored costume, cream net and lace blouse, small brown hat with eye-veil, and accessories to match. They will make their home in Shannon.
