EMPRESS OF BRITAIN

Big Cruise Liner To Visit

New Zealand

Dominion Special Service. Auckland, December 15.

On an extensive tour in connection with the passenger organisation of the Canadian Pacific Shipping fleet, Mr. C. C. F. Young, of the company’s London staff, is visiting Auckland. Much of his work will be assisting in the preparations in Australia and New Zealand for the world cruise of the Empress of Britain next year. This liner of 42,500 tons is the .biggest ship in the world, and the flagship of the Canadian Pacific Railway’s Atlantic fleet. Mr. Young estimated that she would be drawing 30ft. or 31ft. of water on her arrival at Auckland, in which case she will be handled with ease. The Empress of Britain will’visit Auckland in April. Mr. Young will leave on Monday for Wellington, visiting scenic resorts on his way south. After visiting the South Island he will leave in January for Australia, joining the Empress of Britain there and returning to New Zealand with her.
