Wellington Markets Bull AN EASIER TREND General dullness pervaded the markets on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, and trading was restricted to a small turnover. Prices were mostly easy. Government loans were quiet and barely steady. The 4 per cent, stock, 1946-49. sold 2/6 down at £lO2/7/(1. Others were unchanged. \ Banks were quiet and with an easy .tendency. New Zealands sold at 43/8, and more were wanted at twopence lower. National of New Zealand weakened to 53/-, sellers holding for 55/6. Little interest was shown in other sections of the market, there being a complete absence of buyers in several cases. New Zealand Breweries were marked down to 44/9, sellers 411/9. Tooths were wanted at 52/3. Australian industrials showed little or no change on late rates except metals issues, which fell away in sympathy with the London market. Mount Lyells were marked down to 31/9. Wool worths Ltd. eased to 25/4, sellers asking 26/3. Woolworths (N.Z.) were quoted, ex dividend, at 20/6, sellers 21/6. G. J. Coles sold at 84/4. McKenzies Departmental Stores eased to business at 74/3.
