RANDWICK RACES

Regular Bachelor a Surprise Packet ALL-AGED PLATE WIN Lough Neagh in the Cumberland By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received March 31, 9.15 p.in.) Sydney, March 31. Delightfully line weather prevailed for the third day of the A.J.G. autumn meeting at Randwick to-day. There was a good attendance, aud the track was iu splendid order. Regular Bachelor proved a surprise packet in the All-Aged Blate, brilliantly winning by a length aud a half from the warm favourites, Pamelus and Gold Rod. Ajax, in the Champagne Stakes, proved his Breeders’ Blate wiu was no fluke, for he reached the judge witli a two-length advantage and never appeared likely to suffer defeat. Country Barty, after running third in the Coogee Handicap, was started aud strongly supported by his connections iu the Bronte Handicap, but never appeared a likely winner and finished at the rear of the field. A feature of the day’s racing was the cheering which greeted Lough Neagh when he returned to the scales after the Cumberlaud Blate. Lough Neagh was compelled to make his own pace, led throughout, and withstood determined challenges in the straight by Sarcherie. and Allunga, and passed the post with three lengths to spare. Latharna, iu the final race of the day. was always well placed and finished strongly to secure the verdict by three lengths. The plunge on Latharna was the outstanding betting feature of the meeting to date. Results: —
