MODEL AEROPLANE CAMP
The first of its kind to be held in New Zealand, ihe Wellington Model Aero Club's Easter flying carip, at Raumati beach, was a complete success. A commodious bach, lent by the father of a club member, was the headquarters for 12 members during the four days. Conditions were ideal for flying and a large programme was completed. Times were rather poor, but everyone present enjoyed almost complete immunity from serious crashes. On the Sunday the number of those present grew to 27, and a display of stunt flying, in addition to the competition, was held. The best performances of the meeting were as follows: —Moffett trophy trials. J. G. McGuire, Imin. 22sec.; 11. Righton, Imin. 7 2-ssec. Wakefield trophy' trials, G. Collier. Imin. 12sec. Spar handlaunched, G. Henderson, 2min. 24 2-5 sec. Junior glider hand-launched, V. Walters, 39 l-ssec.
A complete motion-picture record of the activities was secured and will be screened to members shortly.
