MANAGING EDITOR RETIRES

By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, March 31. Mr. J. A. Mackay retired to-day from the mapaging editorship of the “Gisborne ’Times” after 25 years of service. He is succeeded by Mr. R. J. Eastwood, who has been sub-editor for 15 years and was formerly on the staff of the “Press,” Christchurch, and the “Lyttelton Times.” The “Gisborne ’Times” has been purchased by Mr. R. .1. Kerridge. a prominent business man, who will control the commercial activities of the Journal.
