The Late Sir William Hall-Jones

The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, stated yesterday that a telegram in the following terms had been received from the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs with respect to the death of the Hon. Sir William HallJones:—

“News of death of Sir William HallJones has been received with great regret. I should be grateful if you would convey to his Majesty’s Government in New Zealand our sincere sympathy with the Dominion in the loss of one who in a long and honourable career both in New Zealand and in London had rendered eminent service to his country.” i
