EXHIBITION OF CHINA
Of unusual interest to those with a love for the beautiful is the exhibition of old china, needlework and other treasures which is being organised by the board of directors of the Y.W.C.A., and which is to be opened by Airs. J. S. Elliott next week. Numerous friends of the association have helped to make this exhibition possible by lending their treasures, many of which have historic interest. These include two pictures —one by Rembrandt and one by Hogarth—two Chinese collections, a shoe worn by Mary Queen of Scots and a unique Alaori collection. The proceeds of the exhibition will be devoted to the Y.W.C.A. City Girls’ Effort, and this is one of the many “rainbow triangles” functions. The organising committee is convened by Airs. E. AV. Hunt.
