Remarkable Increase In Newcastle Area ( Received May 30, .1 a.m.) Sydney, May 29. ■ The population of the Newcastle area has grown from 60.000 in 1914 to 230.000 at the present day, due largely to now industries, the cliiei ol which is the Broken Hill Steel Works.
