First Interprovincial Matches To-day WELLINGTON CLUB GAMES The Rugby interprovincial programme will open to-day, with matches between Taranaki and Wanganui. The Taranaki team to play V auganm at Wanganui includes J. McNeile, the former Wellington representative, who is selected as a back-row forward. R. Clarke, the former All Black, has been omitted. The Taranaki team, chosen by Messrs. F 11 Masters. O. Brown and D. Johnston. is:—A. Collins; J. Ford, J. Sullivan, E. Smith; J. Galbraith, C. Dowdle, T. Fenton; J. McNeile; W. Young, T. Ruakere, A. Richards, R. Young; J. Armstrong, G. Fowler, F. E. Gargan. The Wanganui team, chosen by Messrs. A Henwood, H. Whiting and A. I'akarangi, is:—ll. Walker; G. A. BullockDouglas, A. B. Campbell, T, Chase; J. Petersen, D. Jones; H. Brogden; G. Lockett; J. McClenaghan, A. Davidson, W. Firmin, 11. James; M. McGregor, T. Charles, W. Thompson. Second teams representing the two provinces will play at New Plymouth. Wellington Matches. In Wellington there will be interesting club matches. Eastbourne and Wellington College Old Boys, the two leading teams, will meet in the main match nt Athletic Park. Eastbourne, with a record of four wins, leads in the competition, Old Boys having three wins and one loss. Old Boys last week convincingly beat Athletic, and may easily cause trouble to Eastbourne. In the curtain-raiser Athletic, which has a record of two wins, one draw and one loss, will meet Wellington, which has won two games and lost two, This match should provide an interesting tussle between two strong forward packs. At Petone. Poneke will meet Marist Brothers Old Boys, and Petone will encounter Hutt at Hutt. The latter game may easily be a close contest. In the second division of the senior grade, Athletic and St. Pat.’s Old Boys, two of the strongest teams in the grade, will meet at Prince of Wales Park. Athletic has three wins undone draw, and St. Pat.’s three wins and one loss. Johnsonville, the leading team, will meet Oriental at Kilbirnie.
