Y.W.C.A. SPORTS

Hockey Club Meeting There was a good attendance, includ ing a number of new’members, at the annual meeting of the Wellington Y.W <’.x\. Hoel,’ey Club. The sports secretary. Miss A. McCrea, presided. The report showed that last year s team had made excellent progress undtr tbe capable coaching of Miss A. Yorston. Two members, Misses Z. Hardie and M. Thomas, bad been chosen for the third grade representative team at the end of the season. Mies IT. Campbell was elected club captain, and Miss R. Barne-secretary-treasurer for the coming season. The team ,is looking forward to a successful season, and expects to field two teams. Basketball Club. A successful season was reported at tbe annual meeting of the Y'.'W.C.A. Basketball Club. The report showed that the captain, Miss J. Stenberg, bad gained representative honours in tbe third grade, and tbe club took tbe opportunity to express regret that, owing to the fact that she was leaving Wellington to take up tcacbinib she Iwl .resigned from her membership in the club. Miss M. Hav was elected club captain; Misis S.' Dickey,'vice-eaptnin ; and Miss D. Munsey, secretary and treasurer. It-was decided-to- invito a team from the Palmerston North Y.W.U.A. to play a local team during the coming season. The club has vacancies for both third grade players and playens of lower grading. • -
