Kilbirnie R.S.A. Card Evening
In conjunction with the usual card tournament held on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Kilbirnie, Lyall Bay and Melrose Auxiliary Committee, W.R.S.A., Bay Road, Kilbirnie,. the ladies’ committee conducted a “bring and buy” stall, the object of which was to raise funds to provide comforts for disabled returned men in hospitals. Mrs. Catanach was in charge of the stall, assisted by Mrs. G. F. East, and the result of the sales was most grut'fying. The successful card players during the evening were Mrs. d’Postine and Mr. G. F. East (bridge) and Mesdames R. Brewer and I’. McLeod (‘•500”). .Mr. P. F. Coira apologised for the absence of the president of the W.R.KA., Colonel. Cowles, ami. .express.-... ed thiinks to all who had supported the stall. The card players were reminded of the afternoon card party to be held at the headquarters shortly and _ a strong appeal was made for ladies willing to assist witii the sale of poppies on Poppy Day to hand in their names to the committee.
