Wanganui, March 18. At the ’Wanganui sale to-day held by Freeman IL Jackson and Co., entries in the sheep section fell off to 2000 as against an average yarding of 7000 since the New Year. The shgep sale.was a very gooil one, competition being particularly good on any breeding ewes, there being quite good bidding on the few lots offered. The cuttle pens were well filled, 350 coining forward. Well-bred steers and heifers sold freely under good competition. while fat cuttle were on a par witli late rales. All store pigs sold at last week’s low values, with baeoners ami porkers selling freely and firm at late rates. A good entry of vealers came forward, good sorts selling well.

Sheep: Prime ewes. 17/-: fat. 12/9 to 15/-; light fat wethers, 24/-; prime lamlis, 23/- to 25/9; fat, 21/- Io 22/6; small 2-tooth ewes, 31/2; 2-tooth wethers. 22/8 to 23/-; 4 and 5-year ewes, 20/5 to 24/-; m.a. ewes, to 23/8; b,m. ewes. 18/1 to 20/1; good wether lambs, to 16/3; cull wether lambs 8/6 to 10/-; ewe 12/2 to 16/3; medium b.f. lambs, 12/- to 15/2; culls, 8/- to 11/-: 1-shear Itomney rams, 2 to 4-lgns. Pigs: Baconers, £2/4/- to £2/17/-; heavy porkers, 31/- to 37/-; porkers, 25/- to 110/-; good stores, 18/- to 22/-; stores, 14/- to 16/-; good slips and weaners. 8/- to 12/-; others, 4/- to 6/6. Cattle: Primo P.A. eows and heifers, £6/15/- to £7/4/-; prime ex dairy, to £5 15/-; fat cows, £3/5/- to £4/10/-: 3Jyear Hereford steers. £7/5/- to £7/15/-; 2i-year, £6/2/6 to £7/2/-: 3-year Hereford and.
