Stortford Lodge Values
By Telegraph—Press Associmimi Hastings. March 18. There was a fairly heavy yarding of fat cattle at Stortford Lodge yesterday, when values dropped back to the level of a fortnight ago. A big percentage of the yarding constituted unfinished sorts. Prime bullocks were iu short supply and made to £l2/2/-, medium to £lO 15/-; prime heavy cows made £B, medium £7 to £7/5/-, others £4/10/- to £6/10/-; heifers, medium weights, prime to £8 10/-. Store cattle: A yarding of 1200. Threeyear well-grown steers made to £B/15/-. Values generally for useful lines were or, a par with recent sales. There was good inquiry for cows with calves at foot, which made to £B. A moderate yarding of store sheep, including several large pens of forward wethers, which made to 24/8; well-grown attractive lines of two-tooth ewes to 31/6. Values for lambs were generally easier. Fat sheep prices rose sharply, up to 2/6, prime owes making 19/- aud mediumweight lambs 22/-.
