ANNUAL MEETING

St. Giles’s Presbyterian

Church

At the annual meeting of St. Giles's Presbyterian Church held recently, a large attendance representative of all the departments of the congregation received reports from the session and board of management and from the various organisations. The work of the minister, the Rev. E. J. Orange, was referred to in terms of warm appreciation, a special point being made of tho practical nature of the Sunday messages, and their application to present-day problems. Affectionate reference was also made to the “lady of the Manse.” The meeting added to the board of management, Messrs. R. Caughley, J. Down, 0. J. Davidson, E. Langford, R. 'Williams and C. Gibson Young. Reference was made to the departure of Mr. 11. G. Cook, who has received an appointment in Hamilton. For 14 years he has been organist and choirmaster, and opportunity was taken to voice appreciation of his long years of service. Arrangements have been made with Mr. Stanley Oliver to fill the position till a permanent appointment can lie made. Mr. Oliver will commence on Sunday, August I. The session report expressed the gratitude of tho congregation to the tudendid bund of mon and women serving in (lie many organisations connected with St. Giles. Mr, E, C. Jack, who for many years has acted as honorary auditor, was thanked for his services and reappointed.
