Willi a general election only about four months distant, there is already activity in political circles throughout New Zealand. The most interesting feature in this year’s election will be the emergence of a new political party, the Democrats. Since the inception of the party the name of Air. W. Goodfellow has been prominently linked with it, but of late rumours have been current not only In Auckland, but also in the south, that lie Ims severed his connection with the organisa tlon.
Mr. Goodfellow to-day declined to discuss the position, but it could be gathered that his interest in the party is maintained.
