CYCLIST SUCCEEDS

English Record Broken ( Received July 23,11.35 p.m.) Loudon, July 23. Despite delay in threading his way through Portsmouth’s packed street market before breakfast, also a minor fall and one wrong turn, Hefty Stuart broke the Loiidou-Portsmouih-Lotidon cycling record by covering 137 miles in 6 hours 34 minutes 7 seconds, which is 15 minutes 10 seconds better than Southall’s 1934 record.
