DUNEDIN’S EXPERIENCE

Some idea of tlie mildness of this winter iu Dunedin is shown by the fact that Hie rainfall from May 1 to July 23 amounts to only 7.10 in., while tlie total sunshine for the same period is 298 hours 22 minutes. The rainfall for the present month to date totals .2(lin. compared witli 1.92 in. for Hie same period of July last year. The heaviest rainfall this month was Win on July 7. Practically no rain lias fallen since July 11 and sunshine lias been recorded every day with tlie exception of July 7.
To-day the amount of sunshine recorded was 8 hours 20 minutes. The total sunshine from July 1 till to-day was 84 hours 43 minutes. The past few days have been notable for heavy frosts, low morning temperatures and blue sky.
