“Overcheck.")
The Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting will open at Epsom to-day, and the racing generally should be of an interesting nature, as the fields are of nice size and even from the point of view of quality. The programme is as follows: —
TRIAL HANDICAP, of £115; trotters; 3.19 class. One mile and a half. Ando Patch ... scr Great Admiral. 36 Bingen Sun ... scr Young Rodney 36 Great Gold scr Mute 60 Meadow King . scr Waikato Prince 72 Polly Pan scr The three likely to be tn keenest demand in the Triab Handicap are Polly Pan, Great Admiral and Waikato Prince Great Admiral created a very, favourable impression when he won his initial race, and will no doubt be favourite.
WAIHEKE HANDICAP, of £115; 3.5 class. One .mile and a quarter.
Aerial Bell .... scr Orwell scr Agnes Bingen . scr Proletarian ... scr Charteris Bay . scr Star Pronto ... scr Cherril scr Tinokaha .... scr Derby Fame .. scr Winaway ... scr Hinewai .... scr Home Brew ... 24 Kia Kaba .... scr Dillon Bond .. 36 Mountain Flight scr Rare Rey 36 Muriel Bond .. scr In the Waiheke Handicap, by reason of his close second in the Great Northern Derby, Proletarian is the potential favourite. Of the others, Muriel Bond, who has two placed performances to her credit, and Dillon Bond, may be accorded most 'support.
OTAHUHU HANDICAP, of £300; 4.29
class. Two miles. Great Parrish ■ scr Kewpie’s Guy . 24 Raydus scr Worthy Light . 36 Willie Derby .. scr Impromptu .. 48 Auto Machine . 24 jewel Pointer 48
Great Parrish is better class than either of the other two on scratch, but .he received a spill last meeting, and this may have unsettled him somewhat. Haydns is very solid, while Willie Derby shown quite good form up north. Kewpie’s Guy is showing signs of returning to her best form, but Worthy Light appeals most at a difference of 12 yards. Impromptu is nicely placed. and should hold Jewel Pointer. Possibly Worthy Light, Impromptu and Great Parrish will carry the bulk of the investments.
PAPAKURA HANDICAP, of £125; 3.28 class. One mile and a half. Edna Worthy . scr Gunidigger .. 12 Guid Hairst ... scr Matico 48 Plain .Pearl ... scr Jackie Thorpe . 60 Ringtriie .... scr Nelson d'Oro .. 60 Te Mahanga .. set Pukemfro ... 72
Ringtrue, if at his best, should dominate the field engaged in . the Papakuro Handicap. Edna Worthy is a smart beginner, and with Plain Pearl may follow Ringtrue in the order of favouritism.
MOUNT ALBERT HANDICAP, of £125 3.38 class. One mile and a half.
Rayon d'Or ... scr Tr.vment ... -4 Aircraft' 1.2 Fisher 36 Lucky Love ... 24 Le Chenault ... 36 Bonnie Direct . 21 Peter Junior .. 33 Min Bells 24 Kewpie’s King 60 Silver Watch .-24
Rayon d’Or, Aircraft and Lucky Love will no doubt be accorded plenty of support.in the Mount Albert Handicap. Bonnie Direct, is nicely placed, -but is uncertain at the start of her races. Of the others, Kewpie’s King reads best. Possibly the three in most demand may be Aircraft, Lucky Love and Kewpie’s King.
FEBRUARY HANDICAP, of £125; trotters; 3.42 class. One mile and a half. Autumn Lou .. 12 Jlanna’s Son .. 24 Mountain Sun . 12 Gala Day 36 Te Kahu 12 Rustle 72
Win Huon .... 12 lu the February Handicap Te Kahn, Mountain Sun and Rusile are likely to have plenty of admirers, with the firstnamed as the actual favourite.
MOSS DAVIS MEMORIAL, of £140: 2.47 class. One mile and a quarter. Bingen Chief .. scr I’ukemiro ... scr Francis Lincoln scr Realty scr Homeward .. scr Travis scr Jackie Tborpe . scr Chancellor .. 12 Lady Coronadoser Arabond .... 24 Nimbus scr Kewpie’s Guy . 24 Prince Pedro .. scr
Jackie Thorpe is partial to a 10-furlong journey, and must be given serious consideration in the Moss Davis Handicap. Francis Lincoln is solid, while Chancellor is one of the best in commission in the north. Chancellor mhy be first choice of investors.
RAILWAY HANDICAP, of £123; 3.34 class. One mile and a half. Fisher scr Mazda 12 King’s Warrior scr Social Pest .... 12 Min Bells scr Laminate ... 24 Red Hope scr Plain Pearl ... 60 Kewpie’s Bond 12
King's Warrior, Kewpie’s Bond. Red Hope and Social Pest are a likely quartet in the Railway Handicap, and they may be supported on the machine iu the order in which they are shown.
