FOR AGED WOMEN
Salvation Army to Open New Eventide Home For various reasons, there are many aged women in the city who find great difficulty in securing a proper home in their declining years. To meet this need the Salvation Army, some years ago, opened an Eventide Home at Island Bay. That there has been no lack of applicants for admission speaks eloquently for the existing need. In view of the fact that the applications for accommodation far exceed the capacity of the home, it. has been decided bj j Lieut.Commissiouer Adams, the Territorial Commander of the army in New Zealand, to open a second home in Wellington.
The new borne is situated in Britoinart Street, Berhampore. Work is now going ahead in preparing it for its occupants and it is hoped that friends of the army will come to its support in this new venture of faith. The public are cordially invited to attend the opening of this home, which will be conducted by Commissioner Adams on Saturday. March 2, at 3 p.m.
Every knitter knows the saving on hand-knitted garments and this season the new styles are so engaging that many ladies are keenly interested in the new hand-knit fashions. Carter’s Wool Shops again lead in selection, value and service. Cuba St. and Lambton Quay.—Advt.
