A motion of congratulation and appreciation of the work of Mr. G. Barber, who is to retire on February 28, was passed nt the meeting of the Petone aud Lower Hutt Gas Lighting Board last night. The secretary, Mr. O. Silbery, said Mr. Barber had been with the board and the borough council for the past 16 years, and. had been a conscientious employee.
