The most spectacular Rugby match seen here for years was played to-day when the Wellington colts team and King Country drew, 23 points all. The first spell was even. King Country leading by .13'points to 10. Wellington equalised quickly in the second spell, and playing delightfully open football ran to a 10-point lead. King Country looked a beaten side at this stage, dawled by the brilliance of Tindall and Baldwin, who cut through the defence repeatedly. -Linda II had the crowd on their feet when he snapped the ball off the toes of the opposing forwards and potted a lovely, goal with a greasy ball, rain having set in at half-time. , , King Country from then on played an inspired game, the forwards initiating slashing loose rushes and the backs, no.ably Conway,' Barton, Bathgate and Crossman, taking advantage of openings. There was tremendous excitement in the last quarter, of an hour, when Barton ran the length of the field to send Bathgate over near the posts for a converted try. Just before the call of time Crossman picked up near the Wellington line and was over for a converted try, equalising the scores. _ . Scorers for Wellington were Baldwin, Tindall, McGreevy and McGurk (tries), Lamnson converting two and kicking a penalty goal; Tindall potted a goal. For King Country Phillips, Crossman (two), Bathgate and Conway scored tries. Gordon converting three: and Crossman one.
