To-day’s List of Winter Sports Fixtures SENIOR RUGBY MATCHES All winter sports arc now in full i swing ami the public is offered a good programme of events fids afternoon. , 3'be 1933 Rugby season will officially opeu to-day, when all grades from senior to seventh division will be played. 'The principal attraction this afternoon will be the game at Athletic Park between Wellington and Athletic. Pouekc aud Hutt will play on the Hutt Recreation Ground; Petoue and Wellington College Old Boys, at Petone; and Eastbourne aud Marist, at Eastbourne. All games will commence at three o’clock. Association Football. AU grades of Association Football will be played this afternoon. In Hie First. A Division, Marist. aud Waterside will play at the Kilbirnie Stadium ; Petoue and Swifts, at Petone; Lower Hutt: and Diamonds, at. Hutt: and Hospital and Technical Old Boys, at. Hospital. The games will start at three o'clock. Both Marist am] Waterside won their first game and as both play fast, open football, a good match should result. Golf. Golfers will have a busy week-end. Today a match will be played between the Wellington and Miramar clubs, the A teams meeting at Herctauuga, and the B teams at Miramar. A. match will be played between Hie Waiwetu and Paekaknriki clubs ou the Paekakariki links during the week-end. The Hutt club will play a bogey match, in conjunction with the qualifying round of the St. Andrew’s Cross competition, today. 3’he Manor Park club will play a 36hole competition, in which a senior and junior player will partner each other, during tlie week-end. Tlie Manor Park ladies’ club will play the first round of a 36-liole eclectic competition to-day. 'The Mornington ladies’ club will play a stroke competition during the weekend. The Titahi ladies’ club will play an L.G.U. medal round during tlie weekend. The Paekakariki ladies’ club will play an L.G.U. round during the week-end. Members of the Shandon Golf Club will play the annual bogey round for the captain's trophy to-day. Rugby League. Four Rugby League games will be played this afternoon. Celtic A will play Newtown A. at (he Showgrounds, at 3 p.m.: Koro Koro will play Randwiek, al. I. p.m.; and City will meet PCtonc. at: 3 p.m.. Hie last two games being at: Hutt Park. In the reserve grade, Celtic B will meet. Newtown B, at 1.30 p.m,, at; the Showgrounds. Basketball. 3’hc basketball season will open to-day. As in previous years, the senior A grade teams will play at Newtown School. The senior B grade games will be at Kilbirnie School. Women’s Hockey. General practice matches for the various women’s hockey clubs will be held this afternoon at Newtown Park. Tanera Crescent, Karori Park, Woburn, Hutt, Johnsonville, and Porirua. The draw for grounds appears elsewhere. Hockey; Head Cycling. Gooff games are expected in the hockey competition this afternoon, when the season will open officially.
