Leading Men to Address Public Meeting SUGGESTIONS FOR REMEDY Some of the leading men in the farming Industry will speak at a big meeting to be held in Wellington on Tuesday, January 17. The meeting has been called by the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and will be attended by representatives of different departments of primary production. The object is to discuss the financial and economic difficulties which at the present time disturb the farming community, and to present helpful suggestions to the Government. The speakers will Include Sir William D. Hunt, Messrs. W. J. Polson, M.P., president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, C. A. Wilkinson, M.P., Eltham, D. Jones, Chairman of the New Zealand Meat Control Board, Dynes Fulton, Dairy Control Board, W. Machin. Christchurch, and James Begg, Dunedin. It Is proposed to select a committee at the meeting to place such decisions as may be arrived at before Cabinet, so that if found practicable they may be Incorporated in any legislation brought before the coming session of Parliament for the amelioration of the problems confronting the primary producers. One of the most Important subjects to be discussed will be that of exchange.
