JOURNALIST RETIRES
Farewell to Mr. C. G. Weston Mr. C. G. Weston, of the editorial staff of “The Dominion,” who joined the paper at its establishment more than 25 years ago, lias retired. He was farewelled yesterday afternoon by tbo literary staff tind presented with a silver-mounted decanter set and crystal goblets. The managing director, Mr. C. IV. Earle, C.M.G., spoke in high praise of Mr. Weston’s journalistic work over a quarter of a century, and expressed his personal regret at the loss of daily association with one for whom he had feelings of deep friendship. The regrets of many colleagues, said Mr. Earle, were tempered with a feeling of consolation that. Mr. Weston had elected to retire at an age which left him full vigour to enjoy bis leisure. Mr. 11. G. Bell, associate editor, and two of Mr. Weston’s fellow journalists since the establishment of “The Dominion.” Messrs. C. J. McKinnon and H. Pliminer, also paid tributes to Mr. Weston’s ability and personality. Mr. Weston, in returning thanks for the sift and remarks of the speakers, referred to the qualities of those with whom be had worked, particularly expressing appreciation of the guidance and encouragement given by Mr. Earle. It was with regret that lie had to breakassociations thal bad meant so much to him. Mr. Weston intends to make his future home in Levin.
