PENNANT BOWLS

Lyall Bay’s Good Lead JOHNSONVILLE NEXT Results of Saturday’s Games A heavy nor’-wester gale naa a very disturbing effect on the pennant bowls on Saturday, and appeared to be felt more in the Hutt Valley, than in the .city, although the grounds on the higher levels at Kelburn and Karori had the full benefit of the wind. There were occasional lulls, and bowlers were quick to take the opportunity, although the bowls were often caught before coming- to a stop. The best performance of the. day was achieved by Victoria, in winning seven games out of eight, and getting a good lift to seventh place in the percentages. Karori came next with five wins out of six, and took third place, and Lyall Bay, maintaining a good average performance of 75 per cent, wins, remains at the top of the table, with the same percentage over the three rounds. Hataitai made the best performance to date with C 5 per cent., and went up several points. The “bottom, dogs” have all improved their figures, and the lowest in the table has 25 per cent, wins over all. There were 56 senior pennant games and six junior pennant games played, and one junior pennant game scratched.
