PETONE CLOCK TOWER

Work has commenced on strengthening the clock tower jf the Petone Municipal Buildings against earthquake, in accordance with'the report of the architect. There is to be a general strengthening too of the Municipal Buildings themselves, and also of the water-pumping station. Recently the Petone Borough Council was notified by the insurance company that it would not insure the earthquake cover unless the recommendations of the architect were given immediate effect.
