CHANGEABLE WEATHER
Heavy Rain Yesterday The weather in Wellington on Saturday was mild with bright sunshine save for passing clouds. There was a light wind from the north. Yesterday was overeast. Rain began to full during the afternoon and culminated in a heavy’ down--pour at 6 o’clock. The weather was line in Dunedin on Saturday' with a light breeze from tlie north-east. The maximum temperature was sixty-seven degrees.. The barometer was fairly steady throughout the day. Yesterday was overcast and cold. The maximum temperature was fifty-seven, the barometer rising till midday and then fairly steady. There was. practically no wind. At Christchurch the weather over the week-end was sunny and warm, more like mid-summer than autumn. The barometer had a falling tendency yesterday afternoon. the reading being 30.10. A strong northerly wind and continuous rain prevailed at Auckland from Saturday afternoon until nearly midday yesterday. Conditions continued overcast and threatening, bnl showers were less frequent in the afternoon.
