Events at Evans Bay CHAMPIONSHIP TO CLYDE Three races postponed from earlier in the season were held by the Evans Bay 1 Yacht and Motor-boat Club yesterday. . There was almost a complete absence of wind, and the annual ocean race for keel yachts to Island'Bay and back had to be abandoned. The above being the final events of the season the championship pennant for centreboards has been won by Clyde, with Betty second and Klo II third. Port Nicholson Club Races The last race of the season for keel yachts, for the Maxwell Rating Cup, firstclass yachts, was held by the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club on Saturday afternoon. A fresh north-westerly breeze at the start gave promise of an interesting contest, and good times by the competing yachts. Three boats crossed the startingline almost together, Alisa being first over. At Point Jernlnghain, Marangi led, with Alisa 22sec. and Viola 38scc. behind. That order was maintained throughout the course, which was round the southern blinker to Somes Rock mark, and home to the finishing line. At Somes Rock rounding times were: Marangi, 4hr. llmin. 30sec.; Alisa, 4hr. 15 mln.; Viola, 4hr. 25min. On corrected time, Alisa was declared the' winner by 6sec. from Marangi. ' In the 18ft. and under class, the race postponed on account of heavy weather on , November 15 was decided. Only five of the ’ . original eleven entrants crossed the start-ing-line, and the winner. Wellesley 11, was never headed. Klo II was undcr-canvased, and did not gain a place.
