AVIATOR KILLED

Blinded by Rainstorm (Rec. March 15, 5.5 p.m.). Sydney, March 15. During a flight over the city this morning an aeroplane crossing Vaucluse Heights struck a flagstaff. A wing of the machine was torn off and Captain Jolly, a well-known aviator,*who was a passenger, was killed. The pilot, M. Robertson, received a fractured skull. The visibility was very bad owing to heavy rain.
