Only One Announcement Little lias been heard lately of- fe raning contest for the City the retirement from the contest of Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., t h e only definite announcement made is that of Mr. 1. ' -pHislop, who was first returned to the council in 1913. . There have been rumours of other likely candidates, two in particular being an ex-Mayor and one of the senior councillors. It is understood that the Labour Party will shortly consider its tickets for the municipal elections, rts Candidate for the Mayoralty may be Mr. C. 11. Gimp man, M.P., who has contested the ofiice on a previous occasion.
