Large Damages Awarded Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, March 11. The hearing of a claim for damages totalling £906/13/-, arising out of a collision between a motor-car and a motorcjcle 0(1 June 3, was concluded in the Supreme Court to-day. Plaintiffs were William Greig and James Robertson Cairns, and defendant Arthur Howard Spratt. • Greig was driving a motor-cycle with Cairns on the pillion seat. They alleged that the collision was caused by the negligence of Spratt. Defendant denied negligence and alleged negligence on the part of Greig. Greig claimed £545/15/- and Cairns £360/18/-. The jury found defendant guilty of negligence, ain| awarded_Greig £295/15/damages and Cairns £B5/10/-.
