The Union Company's intercolonial paseenger steamer Manuka arrived in the stream at Wellington nt 12.50 p.m. yesterday from Melbourne direct.. Pratique was granted, and the ship berthed at No. 1 south (outer tee) Queen’s Wharf at *..10 p.m. The vessel left Melbourne at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, nnd had a fine weather passage. with light variable winds and smooth to slight seas. She will leave Wellington to-morrow for southern ports and Melbourne.

RANGITIKI AT AUCKLAND DUE HERE SATURDAY On her second voyage to New Zealand the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new motor-liner Bangltikl reached Auckland from London and Southampton at midday on Friday, and berthed at Prlnce’a Wharf. It la the veaael'a flrat visit to Auckland. On her maiden voyage she discharged and loaded at Southern ports. The Rangltikl sailed from Southampton on September 27 with 509 passengera. After calling at Madeira she reached Colon on October 12 and cleared Balboa on the following day. Owing to an outbreak of smallpox at Panama the passengers were not allowed to land. Generally fair weather prevailed, except during the last three days of the passage, when progress was retarded by strong south-west winds and a very high head swell. A strong adverse current was also encountered when the vessel was nearing New Zealand. The Rangitlkl will unload a large quantity of general merchandise from London at Auckland and Wellington, where she is due next Saturday. Afterwards she will load for London- at Lyttelton, Auckland. Dalgety and Co. received a wireless message from the City of Dalhart on Saturday reporting that she does not expect to reach. Wellington until Friday from New York. The vessel puts out part cargo here and loads also for Singapore and Bombay, and then proceeds to Australia for both discharging and loading. VANCOUVER MAIL SERVICE. The Hauraki left Los Angeles on October 24 for Auckland, where she is due on November 14, thence to Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney, ana return to Vancouver. - - The Waiotapu arrived at Vancouver on October 30, and loads 1 at Ocean Falls for San Francisco and Los-Angeles for Papeete, New Zealand, and Australia. The Wairuna, from Wellington, arrived at Vancouver on October 30, and loads at Vancouver, New Westminster, Union Bay, and Ocean Falls. She Is expected to clear therlatter portion November 6 for San Francisco direct. -miscellaneous: The Kurow is to leave Auckland on Thursday for Wellington and, southern ports. ; , .
