LICENSING MARITIME WORKERS
SCULLIN GOVERNMENT ABOLISHES SYSTEM (Rec. October 30, 10.40 p.m.) Sydney, October 30. During the progress of' the last watersiders’ strike, the Bruce Government instituted a system of licensing maritime workers, which enabled the shipping companies to weed out those they considered undesirables. ine Scullin Government now has sanctioned the abolition of the licensing system, under which a large number of volunteer workers maintained their jobs on the waterfront.
