CREW FOR WHALER
MANY APPLICANTS. Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, October 29. There was a great rush of applicants to-day to fill the thirty positions on the whaling factory ship Southern Princess, no fewer than 400 men offering their services. For over three hours this morning the secretary of the Southern Whaling and Sealing Company, and the local agents, interviewed a steady stream of applicants, and by noon the 30 men required had been chosen. ... , . The Southern Princess will be engaged in whaling in Ross Sea for four months.
