LAWN TENNIS

* NO AMERICAN TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA . (Rec. October 30, 7 p.m.) New York, October 29. An Australian Press Association representative interviewed Mr. Cullum, president of the United States Lawn Tennis Association at Philadelphia, who said he had again discussed the matter with Mr. Ware, who has charge of sending tennis teams abroad, and he finds the position such that the decision not to send a team to Australia this year cannot be changed. “None of the elder players ere available for an Australian trip, while the designation of younger players would involve taking them away from college. We know how advisable it would be to send a team to Australia, for we would like to have Australia challenge in the American zone for the Davis Cup, as the zone is now pretty bare, but ye must leave the matter for the season 1930-81, when it will receive our most aympathctic consideration.”
