LADIES’ OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP OF VICTORIA (Rec. July 30, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, July 30. Miss Susie Tolhurst won the ladies’ open golf tournament of Victoria, defeating Mrs. S. Woojl 8 up and 7 to Play. MIRAMAR CLUB At Miramar on Saturday last the competition for the Doughty Memorial, fourball (unconditional), was played, a large entry being received. Following were the scores: C. T. Caulton and R. W. Scott, 7 up; J. C. Peacock and E. O. Hales, 6 up; A. D. S. Duncan and H. E. Napier, 5 up; K. D. Duncan and D. O. Whyte, 4 up; Colonel Cunningham and Dr. A. E? Park, 3 up; C. N. Beasley and Colonel Hughes, 3 up; C. H. Armstrong and N. A. Arthur, E. H. Liddle and W. Wiggins, Rev. Rooke and A. T. Seaward, S. Gambrill and G. W. Waddel, L. A. Bath and C. L. Dentice, each 2 up; F. P. Wilson and R. A. Westbrook, 1 up. During the week-end a competition was held to raise funds to assist in sending two extra professionals to the professional championship meeting to be held in Adelaide in August, the trophies for the winners, senior and junior sections, being donated by R. C. Butters, the Miramar Club’s professional, and for the run-ners-up by Messrs. Dunlop Rubber Co. A substantial sum was realised. In the seniors E. H. Liddle and O. T. Caulton tied for first place, all square; and in the juniors Dr. Park won 3 up, with R. W.. Atkinson in second place, all square. , TITAHI LADIES’ CLUB Miss Avery was the winner of the continuous bogey competition of the Titahi Club for'the first period. The winner of the ringer competition (first period) was Mrs. Murphy.
