VOLCANIC ERUPTION

TONGAN VILLAGE DESTROYED (Rec. July 30, 7 p.m.) Suva, July 30. The British Consul at Tonga reports a volcanic eruption on the island of Niuafoou, in the Tongan Group. Futu village has been destroyed, although no lives were lost. The people are absolutely destitute.
