The photograph at left shows the Tarakahe Cement Works at Golden Bay, Takaka, where a rock slide, which crashed into the dynamo room, caused the death of Mr. A. D. Stubbs, one of the company's engineers. The preciptious limestone cliffs seen at rear and right of the works give an indication of what a serious rock-slide wouldmean. The picture at the right shows a section of the dynamo room. Mr. Stubbs was sitting at the desk (the corner of which is seen on the right) when he was overwhelmed by the falling rock.
