CHEAP RAILWAY TRIPS NEXT SUNDAY

The Railway Department has prepared a programme of attractive trips for next Sunday. The introduction of very cheap fares for these outings has captured ■ the public fancy, and each Sunday marks an ever-increasing exodus of city dwellers intent on the brief enjoyment of the pure air and sunshine of the npen spaces'. The 9 a.m. train from Wellingtoon' to Palmerston North, stopping at the principal stations en route, will again run next Sunday. The return fare to Palmerston North is sufficiently attractive to induce large numbers of visitors to this progressive centre. The return train will leave Palmerston North at 4.27 p.m., arriving Wellington at 7.56 p.m. A new train, stopping at the principal stations, will leave Palmerston North for Wellington at 8.50 a.m. The return train leaves Wellington at 4.10 p.m., arriving Palmerstbn North at 8.2 p.m. Those who enjoy the seaside may travel to their favourite beaches by either the 9 a.m. or 9.30 a.m’. trains the latter does not run beyond Paekakariki. The special “blackberry” train, which is timed to leave Lambton Station for Kaitoke at 9.15 a.m., is expected to be well patronised. Particulars of the services and fares are advertised elsewhere in this issue.
