PAINTERS’ CONFERENCE

■A The annual conference of the New Zealand Federated Master Painters, Decorators, and Signwrriters' Industrial Association of Employers was continued yesterday morning. It was decided to hold the next annual conference at Christchurch. • The following officers were elected for the coming year:—President, Mr. J. Abbott (Dunedin); vice-presidents, Messrs. A. H. Penny (Auckland) and E. J. Bell (Christchurch); secretary-treasurer, Mr. W. C. Prime; auditor, Mr. D. Lee. Messrs. George Lay, IV. Harris, E. Lockwood, and J. W. Barden (all of Christchurch) were elected to the Executive Committee. The remaining three places will be filled later. Mr. Bell will act as chairman. Messrs. T. A. Wells, W. Nicliol, and F. C. Standidge will be the delegates to the Parliamentary Committee. In the afternoon the delegates paid a visit to the works of General Motors at Petone.
