Hennessey defeated Carlton Shafer (Philadelphia), 7—5, 10—8, and Vanryn defeated W. IL Story (Freeport, Long Island), G—2, 6--2. Allison defeated John Millen at Forest Hills, 6 —l, 14 —12, a record for long sets.
